The Thai army has established control over the 225th strategic hill in the Surin province of Thailand, bordering Cambodia. This was reported by the second military district of the Thai army.
"Control has been established over the 225th hill. The 2nd military district continues its military operation," the statement said.
Thai troops had previously taken control of the ancient Ta Kwai temple complex near Hill 225, pushing Cambodian forces out of the area.
Clashes involving small arms along the Cambodia-Thailand border began on December 7. On December 8, Thai ground forces reported that Cambodian troops had begun shelling Thai positions along the border.
