"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
Sources of the Zhoghovurd daily report that the scandalous story of the purchase of a luxurious mansion by Hayk Konjoryan, the head of the National Assembly "Civil Contract" faction, has a new development. According to our information, Konjoryan's transaction is being checked in the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, it is being discussed whether there are any features of corruption-like actions or not.
Let's remind that investigative journalists published data according to which Konjoryan and his wife bought a private house in Arinj in July 2024, which was presented in the declaration for 54 million drams with a mortgage loan (it is also noted that the loan was provided by "Armeconombank").
"Hetq" has presented a calculation that the price of such a property can be around 75.6 million drams at the prices announced by the same developer, that is, the difference will be about 21.6 million drams.
In the same publication, it is also mentioned that 54 million drams is not a random number, because there is a threshold of 55 million drams for the contractual value of the transaction with the current income tax refund mechanism (for the mortgage) in order to benefit from the tax exemption. In other words, it turns out that they adjusted the price of the house in such a way that there is a return of income tax for a luxurious mansion and Konjoryan becomes the owner of the castle cheaply.
Of course, Konjoryan denied receiving any "discount" after the publication, but according to "Zhoghovurd" sources, the anti-corruption body is now trying to understand whether there were suspicious elements of price manipulation and taking advantage of a possible privilege in the transaction, or whether it is a normal market transaction.
It remains to be seen whether the anti-corruption committee will dare to fully reveal the truth about the head of the CP, or whether the topic will become a bubble left in the air. At this moment, the anti-corruption committee is obliged (if an inspection is in progress) not to "freeze" the topic in silence, but to publicly present what is being inspected, what documents were requested, and in what time frame to wait for the result.
Otherwise, a simple formula is obtained: when the accused is in power, anti-corruption turns into a political laundry. a little noise, a little "checking" and in the end, no responsibility.
"Zhoghovurd" will follow the process and results of inspections.
Let's remind that from November 2024 Hayk Konjoryan's wife became the director of "Haypost", which was impossible to imagine if Konjoryan was not the head of CP faction, and now she receives a monthly salary of several million drams. Perhaps another check will be necessary to find out how exactly Konjoryan's wife won the director's competition."
