Turkey's Interior Ministry said there were five people on board a Falcon 50 private jet that went missing shortly after takeoff from Ankara.
The ministry clarified that the plane departed from Esenbogha airport and was on its way to Tripoli. Shortly after takeoff, the crew signaled an emergency landing in the Haimana area, after which contact with the plane was lost. "The plane issued an emergency landing warning in the area of Haymana, but subsequent attempts to restore contact with the plane were unsuccessful. There were five passengers on the plane," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey said.
According to the Ministry, the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, General Mohammed Ali Ahmed al-Haddad, may have been among the passengers of the plane. There is currently no official confirmation of this information.
