As a result of the clashes carried out by the Kurdish-led "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) on the residential areas of the Syrian city of Aleppo, the number of victims has reached 4, Syria TV reports. The Aleppo Health Department has informed the names of four civilians who died, adding that nine people were injured. On the evening of December 22, clashes took place near the Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafieh districts of Aleppo. between the army and SDU.
The clashes were followed by the shelling of residential areas by the Kurdish forces, as a result of which civilians were killed. The Syria TV journalist noted that the clashes began after an SDF sniper targeted a checkpoint of the internal security forces near Sheikh Maqsood.
Earlier, the governor of Aleppo, Azzam Gharib, declared December 23 non-working in all public and private schools and universities, as well as in government offices in the center of Aleppo. The governor clarified that the decision does not apply to those organizations whose work requires the provision of medical assistance and emergency services to citizens.
After hours of shelling and clashes, Aleppo is relatively calm following a ceasefire between the Syrian army and SDF.
