Representatives of the internationally recognized government of Yemen and the rebel "Ansar Allah" (Houthi) movement have reached an agreement on the exchange of 2,900 prisoners, "Al-Hadat" TV channel reports, citing sources.
"In Muscat, through the mediation of the United Nations and Oman, an agreement on the exchange of prisoners between the Yemeni government and the Houthis was signed," Saudi Arabian sources said.
According to their information, the agreement stipulates that the authorities of the republic will release 1,700 supporters of the Houthis. In turn, the Houthis will hand over 1,200 people to the government.
