Before the vote on the 2026 state budget draft in the Turkish parliament, the tension between the deputies turned into a fight.

The dispute started between the deputy of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP-AKP) Mustafa Varank and the deputy leader of the faction of the People's Republic Party (Z-CHP), which is considered the main opposition force, Mustafa Emir. During the fight, other deputies also joined in. After the incident that lasted for about 10 minutes, the session continued. The 2026 state budget draft was adopted by the majority of votes.

569 deputies participated in the voting, of which 320 voted for and 249 against.
