The EU Council extended 19 packages of sanctions against Russia

The Council of the European Union has announced that it has extended the package of 19 sanctions against Russia until July 31, 2026.

"The EU Council has extended EU economic sanctions against Russia until July 31, 2026," the EU Council said in a post on social media.

The Russian economy faced unprecedented Western sanctions in 2022. Since then, many restrictions have been applied to the country. according to the agency's calculations, their number is now almost 31,000. In particular, the European Union adopted 19 packages of sanctions.

Russia has repeatedly stated that the country will overcome the pressure of sanctions, which the West began to impose on it several years ago and continues to strengthen.

Moscow stated that the West does not have the courage to accept the failure of sanctions against Russia. Western countries themselves have repeatedly expressed the opinion that anti-Russian sanctions are ineffective.
