Israeli officials warned the Trump administration over the weekend that missile drills being conducted by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) could be preparations for a strike on Israel, Axios reported, citing sources.
According to the publication, Israel's Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, called Brad Cooper, head of the US Central Command, on Saturday, saying that Israel is concerned about the missile exercises launched by the IRGC a few days ago.
Zamir told Cooper that Iran's recent missile movements and other operational activities could also serve as a cover for a surprise attack by Tehran.
