The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, Yvette Cooper, had a telephone conversation, the Iranian IRNA agency reports, presenting the details of the telephone conversation.
It is noted that during the telephone conversation, the parties exchanged ideas on bilateral relations, consular issues and the Iranian nuclear issue.
"Araghchi criticized the irresponsible approach of the three European countries to Iran's nuclear issue, stressing that Tehran has never refused negotiations or dialogue based on respect for the legitimate rights and legitimate interests of the Iranian people," the Iranian media noted.
It is reported that the interlocutors also emphasized that Iran is categorically against negotiations that are equivalent to unilateral imposition.
The British Foreign Minister, for his part, reaffirmed the British position on the need to use diplomatic means to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue.
