The Indian Express: Security has been tightened in New Delhi due to the terror threat

Indian authorities have tightened security measures in New Delhi due to the growing threat of terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens during the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

As reported by The Indian Express, the measures were taken on the basis of information received from Indian intelligence agencies about possible attacks on the Israeli embassy in New Delhi by militants of the terrorist organizations "Al-Qaeda" and "Islamic State" (banned in Russia).

"Personnel from 15 police districts and paramilitary forces protecting the railways have been put on high alert, and security has been beefed up at the Israeli embassy and consular offices, synagogues, Jewish community centers and popular tourist spots visited by Israeli citizens," a security spokesman told the publication.

Local units have been instructed to intensify vigilance, especially in places where mass gatherings, religious events, hotels, restaurants and commercial establishments take place.
