The former deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan is wanted

The State Security Service of Azerbaijan has made another decision regarding the criminal case against Ramiz Mehdiyev and other persons accused of usurping state power.

As reported by the Azerbaijani media, on the basis of the materials collected in the criminal case, a decision was made to prosecute the former First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Abbas Abbasov, who avoided criminal prosecution for years thanks to the patronage of Ramiz Mehdiyev. Abbasov was wanted.

It should be noted that since 1992, Abbas Abbasov has held the position of the first deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan. In 2006, after being released from his post, he moved to the Russian Federation.

According to Azerbaijani media, "over the past few years, Abbasov engaged in subversive activities, the aim of which was to seize control of the structures of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia by various illegal means."

He became the founder and head of the "Union of Azerbaijani Organizations of Russia" established in 2012 and known to everyone as the "Union of Billionaires".

Azerbaijan states that according to the received information, the materials of the criminal case included funds transferred to Azerbaijan through various channels, audio and video recordings of promises made to the participants of those transactions and processes, materials on meetings abroad and plans to seize constitutional state power in Azerbaijan, which will be widely published during the open trial.

Let's remind that the former head of the administration of the President of Azerbaijan, Ramiz Mehdiyev, is accused of having ties with Russia and carrying out a coup attempt in Azerbaijan.
