A student was arrested in Poland on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack

A Catholic University student was arrested in Lublin on suspicion of organizing an explosion at the Christmas fair, Jacek Dobrzynski, the press secretary of the Polish Minister of State Security, said.

"Officers of the Internal Security Agency arrested Mateusz W., a student of the Catholic University of Lublin, on suspicion of planning a mass attack using explosives on the Christmas market," wrote Dobrzynski on the X platform.

He noted that the arrested person had previously searched for information on how to independently prepare materials for committing a terrorist act.

According to Dobrzynski, Mateusz V. also planned to "join a terrorist organization in order to get help in carrying out his plans."
