The Palestinians will be responsible for the internal security of the Gaza Strip, and foreign forces will have to guard the demarcation line with Israel, Hussam Badran, a member of the political bureau of Hamas, told RIA Novosti.
"The position on the issue of foreign presence is agreed upon by all Palestinian groups, including Hamas. We will agree to such forces if they have a clear mandate limited to monitoring the ceasefire between the parties.
"This implies their presence on the border of the Gaza Strip," the source of the agency said.
As for ensuring security in the Gaza Strip, it is only the responsibility of the Palestinian authorities, a member of the Hamas political bureau is sure.
