"Zhoghovurd" daily learned that the RA Investigative Committee has started active investigative activities in the criminal proceedings initiated against businessman Samvel Karapetyan. The businessman's lawyers reported that the linguists were targeted by the law enforcement officers, who gave an expert opinion in the case of businessman Samvel Karapetyan. According to the defense group, they were called to the Investigative Committee, and yesterday they searched the house of linguist Vano Yeghiazaryan.
Months ago, lawyer Ruben Hakobyan asked specialists to give an expert opinion on whether there is a call to seize power in Samvel Karapetyan's words about the protection of the church.
Experts have concluded that there is none. According to the information received by "Zhoghovurd" daily newspaper, in addition to experts, the pre-investigation body is actively investigating witnesses. it is not excluded that such active investigative actions are related to the fact that by the end of the year, the pre-investigative body will declare the end of the preliminary investigation in the criminal proceedings against Samvel Karapetyan and decide to send the case to court.
Let's remind that Samvel Karapetyan was targeted by Prime Minister Pashinyan and law enforcement officers on June 17, hours after his announcement about protecting the Armenian Apostolic Church. The police arrested him, during that time they thought about what case could be made about him, then they detained him for two months according to an SMS instruction, and the philanthropist is still in custody."
