The most unusual game of Tetris ever played took place over the skies of Dubai, as a giant display of over 2,800 synchronized drones was created for the game. According to the Video Games Chronicle (VGC), the event took place as part of the Red Bull Tetris World Final.
The finalists, Turkish player Fehmi Atalar and Peruvian Leo Soloranzo, were given five minutes each to play on that unique "screen" created by Lumaski. Atalar won with 168,566 points. After the tournament, he declared this event the best moment of his five-year playing career.
Tetris creator Alexey Pazhitnov, who was present at the championship, said that one of his biggest dreams, playing the game with drones, has finally come true. He called the project an embodiment of the spirit of innovation that has always accompanied this cult puzzle game.
