The European Union will provide 15 million euros to Armenia. what will the money be used for?

RA-EU cooperation in the direction of increasing Armenia's resilience in various directions, including countering hybrid threats, is ongoing and has not just begun. Along with the development of the partnership, various initiatives aimed at strengthening the democratic and economic resistance of RA are considered, developed and approved. Ani Badalyan, spokesperson of the RA MFA, said this in response to the statement of Kaya Kalas, the High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union.

"For example, the "Resilience and Growth" program, which is currently in the active stage of implementation, and the decision on the location of the EU mission in Armenia were adopted on that principle. It is not an exception to the cooperation in order to counteract the possible hybrid threats on the way to ensuring the electoral processes in line with the democratic standards, the support of the EU, taking into account the experience and tools of the EU and member states in this direction. Correspondingly, yes, there are initiatives formed as a result of joint discussions in that direction, and the public will be properly informed when decisions are made," said Badalyan.

To remind, the meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states is taking place in Brussels, to which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia is also invited. Before the meeting, the High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, Kaya Kalas, announced that the official Yerevan asked the Union for support to fight against the hybrid threats seen in the run-up to the parliamentary elections in the country in 2026.

He announced that the European Union will provide 15 million euros to Armenia to strengthen peace and resilience, as well as support to face challenges in the information field.
