The Louvre museum in Paris will be closed all day, BFMTV reported on Monday, citing its sources.
Earlier, Agence France-Presse reported that the Louvre did not open on Monday due to an indefinite strike by museum workers in protest against deteriorating working conditions and a lack of resources. According to AFP, 400 people are participating in the strike.
"The museum will remain closed throughout the day," the statement said.
Three French unions, including the leading General Confederation of Labor (CGT), called on 8 December for Louvre workers to go on indefinite strike from 15 December.
