A special meeting of foreign ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will take place on December 22 to resolve the tense situation on the Thai-Cambodian border, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia announced.
"The holding of a special session of ASEAN foreign ministers is a continuation of the decisions taken by the Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Cambodia and Thailand, Anwar Ibrahim, on December 11, Khun Maneth and Anut Chanwirakun, as part of efforts to settle the situation in relations between Cambodia and Thailand," The Star newspaper quoted.
As the publication notes, the meeting was initially scheduled for December 16, but at the request of Bangkok, it was postponed until December 22.
