Negotiations between the US and Ukraine in Berlin were difficult, as the American side did not want to compromise on its draft peace agreement, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported, citing its source.
According to the publication, the negotiations lasted five hours and will continue on Monday. According to European and Ukrainian officials, Kiev's security guarantees will be discussed.
Britain, France and "other European countries" have drawn up detailed plans outlining the help they are willing to provide, including the possible deployment of troops. Washington has not yet made a political decision on what aid it is willing to provide, the WSJ reported.
On Sunday, the meeting of the American and Ukrainian delegations regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine was held at the German Federal Chancellery in Berlin.
