On December 14, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomoyan participated in the 11th World Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations held in Riyadh, within the framework of which he made a speech at the high-level meeting of the Alliance's Friends Group.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the key to preventing conflicts, restoring trust between societies and protecting the dignity and identity of all communities is the promotion of a culture of peace and the fight against violence, based on tolerance and mutual understanding.
In this context, he noted that Armenia actively contributes to global efforts against hate speech, racial and ethnic discrimination and xenophobia, including within the framework of UNESCO, the Alliance of Civilizations and the Council of Europe.
The Deputy Foreign Minister referred to RA's involvement in the restoration of Iraq's documentary cultural heritage implemented within the framework of UNESCO's "Restoration of the Spirit of Mosul" initiative, international projects implemented by the "Blue Shield" organization in Lebanon, as well as cooperation with the State of Palestine aimed at protecting the latter's endangered documentary cultural heritage. Also presented in 1954 Within the framework of the 16th meeting of the High Contracting Parties to the Hague Convention, the resolution initiated by Armenia and unanimously adopted, aimed at strengthening the protection and restoration of cultural heritage using new and developing technologies.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs particularly emphasized the priority of RA aimed at empowering the youth and promoting diversity and inclusiveness. In this context, the attention of the attendees was drawn to 2027. At the 10th International Francophonie Games hosted in Armenia.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs also emphasized the priority of the prevention agenda for Armenia, referring to the 2025 On September 5, within the framework of the plenary session of the UN General Assembly, the resolution with the title "Decade of the International Day of Remembrance and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and Prevention of Genocide" was unanimously adopted by Armenia.
Referring to the regional developments, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomyan reaffirmed RA's commitment to the further promotion of the current settlement processes in the region. In this context, the implementation of the agreement reached in Washington on August 8 was emphasized in order to strengthen the peace established in the South Caucasus, establish a more stable and cooperative environment. The implementation of the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative of the RA Government and its important component, the "TRIP Path" program, was also highlighted for promoting peace and strengthening trust in the region through people-to-people contacts.
