An unusual ceremony was held in Tokyo as part of Sega's celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza (Like a Dragon) video game franchise. During the event, the fan, nicknamed lala_nyan0617, married a life-size cardboard figure of the video game's main character, Kazuma Kiryu.
Titled "Weddings, Funerals & Events," the event offered fans iconic character weddings, divorces, and even virtual funerals. All participants in the fake weddings received Sega-branded envelopes for money and special marriage certificates.
The fan shared photos from the ceremony on Twitter, expressing her joy at marrying such a "wonderful man" and promising to support him in the future.
Yakuza, also known as Like a Dragon, is a video game series created by Toshihiro Nagoshi for Sega. It includes projects from various genres that have been released since 2005.
