Magnetic storms from December 14 to 30. dangerous days

Magnetic storms are unlikely in the coming days. According to the forecast of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS), the Earth's magnetosphere is calming down after Saturday's disturbances.

According to scientists' calculations, the level of geomagnetic oscillations has already dropped to 3, and on Sunday, December 14, it will drop to 2 on the Kp index. This corresponds to a calm state that will continue on Monday, December 15.

However, experts predict significant disruptions and serious magnetic storms at the end of the month. The tension in the magnetosphere will begin to increase already from December 21, and a full-fledged magnetic storm of the G1 (weak) level is possible on December 23. The next significant disruption is expected on December 30, 2025.
