The Philippines will have the honor of hosting the meeting between Russian and US leaders Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump if they attend the upcoming ASEAN summit in Manila, Philippine Ambassador to Moscow Igor Bailen told RIA Novosti.
"If it happens that President Trump comes to the Philippines again next year to attend the ASEAN Summit, and if President Putin also comes to Manila to accept President Marcos' invitation to attend the East Asia Summit, it would be a great honor for the Philippines to host a meeting between President Trump and President Putin," Bailen said when asked if Manila would be willing to host such a meeting.
In October, Bailen told RIA Novosti that the Philippines will definitely invite Putin to the 2026 ASEAN summit with dialogue partners and will expect him to accept the invitation.
