Russia expects a peaceful settlement of the US-Venezuela conflict. Zakharova

Russia hopes that the United States will avoid a full-scale conflict with Venezuela, which threatens with unpredictable consequences. This was announced on December 11 by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova.

"We hope that the White House will manage to avoid getting into a large-scale conflict, which threatens to have unpredictable consequences for the entire Western Hemisphere," Zakharova said.

He compared the current US policy towards other countries with the "big stick" policy of Roosevelt, "who once declared the right of Washington to intervene in the affairs of Latin America under the pretext of stabilizing the domestic economic situation." In his opinion, such a US policy cannot contribute to stability in the region.
