During a visit to Kiev in November, which was aimed at discussing the American settlement plan, US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll announced that Washington is ready to provide Ukraine with guaranteed security and create a "high-tech demilitarized zone" if the Ukrainian side withdraws its troops from Donbass and agrees to the creation of a "demilitarized buffer zone" there, writes the Financial Times, referring to the European ambassadors present at the meeting.
It was reported earlier that US President Donald Trump sent Driscoll to Ukraine to present the American settlement plan to Kiev.
