The United States expects international stabilization forces to be deployed in the Gaza Strip by early 2026. According to Qatar's Al Jazeera TV channel, citing a US official, Washington is negotiating with several countries to provide military contingents.
"We expect the deployment of international stabilization forces in Gaza in early 2026, with the participation of one or two countries in the first phase," the American source told the TV channel, noting that the peacekeepers will not be deployed in the areas of the Gaza Strip controlled by the Palestinian Hamas movement.
According to him, the issue of US participation in the command of the mission is still under discussion.
