The head of European diplomacy, Kaya Callas, accused the US of provocation for criticizing the EU in its national security strategy.
On Friday, the White House released a new US national security strategy that calls for Europe to take responsibility for its own defense. The new strategy highlights the problems of over-regulation, mass immigration and censorship of free speech in the EU.
"Regarding the US attacks on the European path and European strategy, I think we should be more confident, because everything we read about Europe is not true.
I think this is done as a provocation, to provoke a reaction from us. We know that this is not true," he said.
