On December 8, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan met with the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Anoushirvan Bandpei, Deputy for Tourism Affairs.
This was reported by the RA Ministry of Economy. The prospects of cooperation in the field of tourism between Armenia and Iran were discussed, as well as the possibilities of increasing tourist flows between the two countries.
"Armenia and Iran are long-standing friendly countries, and our cooperation in the field of tourism, especially in recent years, has a steadily developing dynamic.
Only in 2024, about 179 thousand tourists from Iran visited Armenia, and in the months of January-November 2025, we have already recorded 166 thousand visits," the minister noted. Thoughts were also exchanged on a number of other issues aimed at the development of the sector.
