US Ambassador to Turkey Thomas Barak has stated that US President Donald Trump considers the sanctions against Turkey, which were imposed after the purchase of Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, meaningless. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the US ambassador, Trump has ordered the start of procedures to lift sanctions against Ankara, amid Turkey's continued large-scale deliveries of drones to Ukraine.
The country has four F-35 aircraft in storage, but does not have access to them due to sanctions. Specific dates for the cancellation of American sanctions against Turkey are not yet known.
