Artavazd Sahakyan, an outstanding surgeon, plastic surgeon, honorary professor of YSU, died at the age of 72.
YSU Rector Armen Muradyan announced this on his Facebook page.

Thanks to the team led by Artavazd Sahakyan, the head of the plastic surgery and microsurgery clinic of the "Heratsi" hospital complex, the head of the chair of plastic surgery of YSU, a number of complex and seemingly incredible operations were performed thanks to great work and mutual trust.
Since 1984, the works of the team led by Artavazd Sahakyan have been presented at professional gatherings in Russia, the USA, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, and a number of other countries.
The patients are not only from Yerevan and regions, but also from different parts of the world.
The surgeon, who performs exceptional interventions in the field of plastic and microsurgery, has performed about 50,000 surgeries during his long professional career," Muradyan wrote.
