"David used to say that it is my dream to serve in Karabakh." Davit Chakryan died on October 16. "Fact"

"Fact" daily writes:

"He was a very calm, smart, serious child. He grew up and changed. When he was young, he was quiet and talkative, but when he had to go to the army, he already had a large circle of friends," says Mrs. Lusine, Davit's mother, in an interview with "Pasti". Davit was born in Gyumri city. He spent his childhood and youth here. He attended kindergarten and school in Gyumri. The mother is honest: her son did not like going to school. "He kept running away from classes. The school teachers used to take him to class by force. I can't say that he had, for example, at least one favorite subject. After finishing the ninth grade, he was admitted to Gyumri No. 1 Vocational College. He wanted to become a chef. In contrast to school, he enjoyed going to college. He finished it, then was conscripted into military service. His grandmother, my mother, is a cook. That's where the love for cooking comes from."

On August 12, 2020, Davit was conscripted into military service. He served in the reserve military unit of Nor Ghazanchi village in Martakert. "He really wanted to serve in Artsakh. He always said that it is my dream to serve in Karabakh. Before he was drafted into the army, if I bought him clothes, they had to have some military symbol, colors. Before leaving for the army, he said that he would go to Karabakh. He was very happy that he was serving in Martakert, but unfortunately, he served for a short time. He always called, he was very happy and satisfied with the service."

On September 27, the 44-day war began. "We had contact with him during the war. The enemy had targeted their reserve military unit, the boys had left there. He said that we are going to the front line, but he did not tell us anything about the exact areas where he was. He called on October 14. It was his last call. At that time they said that there should be a ceasefire. During the conversation with him, I said: Dear Davo, don't think, there will be a ceasefire. He responded, "Mom, whatever you believe."

David died on October 16. The "return" home did not last long.

David has a younger sister. She is a third-year student at the European University. And in the summer of 2021, David's younger brother, Daniel, was born. The mother says that at the time of David's death, she was expecting a baby, but she did not even suspect it. "I was in a difficult mood, we had a lot of difficulties in those days, but we overcame it and our son was born. Now it is the bright spot of our family, the driving force of our life."

H. C. Davit Chakryan was posthumously awarded the "Combat Service" medal. Buried in Chirac Pantheon.
