On December 4, Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz called the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

This was reported by the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.

First, Friedrich Mertz congratulated Aliyev for the success achieved in promoting the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The chancellor emphasized that Germany supports stability in the region.

Expressing his gratitude for the congratulations, Aliyev noted that "Azerbaijan is the author of regional peace initiatives".

Aliyev emphasized that "Azerbaijan will continue its efforts to ensure and strengthen stable peace in the region."

During the telephone conversation, they exchanged ideas on the prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany.

Chancellor Friedrich Mertz invited the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to visit Germany. Ilham Aliyev accepted the invitation with satisfaction and, in turn, invited the Chancellor of Germany to visit Azerbaijan. Friedrich Mertz also accepted the invitation.
