US President Donald Trump announced his intention to hold talks with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro soon. The American leader made this statement in an interview with Fox News.
The leader of the Bolivarian Republic previously expressed his willingness to negotiate with the United States.
"I will talk to him in the not too distant future," Trump said. "I can't reveal what I will tell him, but I will tell him something very specific."
Answering the questions of journalists at the White House on November 17, Trump did not rule out the possibility of a ground military operation in Venezuela.
The next day, the American leader announced that the leadership of the Bolivarian Republic wants to start negotiations with Washington, and he is open to that idea.
