Iran should move its capital from Tehran, the president of the country, Masoud Pezeshkian, said according to IRNA agency.
"The reality today is that we no longer have a choice. moving the capital is a necessity," he said at a public meeting in Ghazvin province.
The reason for this, according to the head of the state, is the significant problems related to water supply, which, combined with the growth of the urban population, can create a humanitarian disaster.
In March, Iranian authorities faced a serious crisis in four provinces: Khorasan, Razavi, Yazd, Spahan and Tehran. The reason was years of drought.
