The new look and security features of the ID card have been confirmed

On November 18, the delegation led by the RA Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, visited the workshop of the French company IN Group located in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and confirmed the appearance and security components of the identification card.

A number of technical issues related to the structure and design of the passport data page were also discussed. The modernization directions and technical solutions of the electronic border management systems were presented to the Minister, the current situation of the biometric system implementation, the development process, and expected innovations were also discussed.

The minister familiarized himself with the actual process of printing both identification cards and passports, noting that the provision of modern, safe and new quality services for citizens in the field of biometric documents is a priority.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with a private partner, is making maximum efforts to start the production of biometric documents in the promised period, in the second half of 2026.

Arpine Sargsyan also emphasized the importance of cooperation with a private partner in the implementation of innovative solutions in the infrastructure of identity management and document security, and emphasized that it has a significant role in the process of visa liberalization with the EU.
