The Migration and Citizenship Service referred to the protocols of the "Tatoyan" Foundation observers and issued a clarification, which we present below.
"Regarding the records of the observers of the Tatoyan Foundation, we inform you that the rare presence of dead persons in the voter lists is due to the fact that the Migration and Citizenship Service in some cases does not have information about the person's death.
The data of a person who died in the Republic of Armenia is removed from the state population register at the time of issuing a death certificate by the CCA body, when invalidating the passport of an RA citizen.
Data on persons who died outside the territory of the Republic of Armenia are removed from the state population register in the event that the interested person submits the death certificate to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, duly translated and duly notarized.
The process is also organized through inspections carried out by the community police.
Regarding the citizen registered at "22 Surb Mesrop Mashtots Street, Apartment 44, Echmiadzin Republic of Armenia", we inform you that the registration of the mentioned person was carried out on September 26, 1996 in accordance with the law.
At the same time, we inform you that no application regarding the deregistration of the deceased has been received in any territorial unit of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, the owner or any of the co-owners can approach any territorial unit, exclusively to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vagharshapat, to deregister the deceased."
