The Armenian grandmasters ended the games with a draw


In the fourth round of the 2025 FIDE Chess World Cup, the grandmasters representing Armenia ended their classic games with a draw. Gabriel Sargsyan ended his match with US Grandmaster Avonder Liang (rank: 2701) 1:1, and the winner will be decided tomorrow in the rapid chess tie-break.


Shant Sargsyan ended his match 1:1 with German grandmaster Frederik Schwane (rank: 2640) and the winner will also be decided tomorrow in the rapid chess tie-break.


In the fourth round, Levon Aronian, the Armenian grandmaster representing the USA, won 1.5:0.5 over Radoslaw Wojtaszek, the grandmaster representing Poland (rank: 2660) and went to the fifth round. Another Armenian grandmaster representing the USA, Samuel Sevyan, ended his match with the Italian grandmaster Lorenzo Lodici (rank: 2572) with a score of 1:1. The winner will be decided tomorrow in a rapid chess tie-break.
