The US military is discussing the possibility of building a military base near the Gaza Strip, which can accommodate approximately 10,000 people, reports Bloomberg. The US Navy has requested estimates from a number of companies for the construction of a "temporary autonomous military base with 10,000 personnel" near the Gaza Strip.
Contractors are required to provide electricity, food, water and communication services.
An unnamed official of the US administration told the agency that the request of the US military is a step in the direction of preliminary planning to create a base for international stabilization forces.
