WP. Off the coast of California, oil drilling will resume

The Trump administration will give the green light to the resumption of oil drilling off the coast of California after decades, according to The Washington Post, which has reviewed the draft of the White House's five-year offshore oil development plan.

According to the publication, the American leader's plan "assumes the sale of six drilling licenses on the California shelf in 2027-2030."

Washington also plans to lease areas in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska for the development of oil fields.
The document calls for expanding drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, where many Florida residents strongly oppose it. The US administration is considering leasing the blocks there in 2029 and 2030.

It also plans to sign more than 20 deals by 2031 for oil and gas leases in the state of Alaska, including more than 200 miles of the Arctic Ocean coast.
