US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order pardoning dozens of his supporters who are accused of meddling in the 2020 US election, pardon attorney Ed Martin said.
"This executive order formally ends a grave national injustice against the American people after the 2020 presidential election and continues the process of national reconciliation," said the document, which Martin posted on his X page.
Named in the order are Trump's former lawyer and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and former Republican campaign lawyer Sidney Powell. As noted in the document, the pardon does not apply to Trump himself.
In August 2023, Georgia District Attorney Fannie Willis led the investigation into allegations that Trump interfered in the state's presidential election.
