Lusinen Ananyan, head of Gyumri's "Communist Party" faction, is raising the alarm.
"Vardan Ghukasyan, who is being held (in Yerevan <Kentron>) penitentiary, is in unbearable and unacceptable conditions, which seriously threaten his health and right to life. There are good reasons to believe that Article 26 of the RA Constitution, as well as Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which prohibit inhuman and degrading treatment, have been violated.
Considering that Vardan Ghukasyan's health has deteriorated and there is a danger to life and health, I demand:
1. Immediately convene an urgent court session,
2. To present and study the conditions of Vardan Ghukasyan's cell,
3. To oblige the relevant bodies to provide conditions for Ghukasyan in accordance with human and health requirements."
