Moldova has decided to return to the "Eurovision" song contest after a certain break, reports the press service of the Teleradiomoldova company, which is traditionally responsible for the selection of participants.
Moldova withdrew from the 2025 competition, citing the lack of quality of the national selection.
"Teleradio-Moldova announced the return of Moldova to the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest." The decision was made after consultations with artists, producers and representatives of the local music industry," the company said in a statement.
The organizers of the national election have decided to change the rules. In order to ensure an objective assessment of the final stage of the national selection, the jury will be composed of 20 members, five international and 15 national experts. Two local producers will also participate in the selection process to evaluate the relevance of the applications.
Moldova has never won Eurovision, finishing third in 2017.
