UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres expressed his concern about the continuous violations of the ceasefire in the Palestinian Gaza Strip and called for the maintenance of the ceasefire agreement and the development of a political solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
"I am concerned about the continuous violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. They must stop and all parties must follow the decisions of the first phase of the peace agreement," Guterres said at a press conference at the World Summit for Social Development in Qatar.
He called to "remember the need to end the occupation, realize the Palestinian people's right to self-determination, and reach a two-state solution that would allow Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace and security."
