Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey, under the auspices of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), is launching a program to support Syria and its state institutions.
"Our main priority is the restoration of our neighbor Syria and its quick return to the previous state. To this end, today we are launching a special support program for Syria under the auspices of the OIC Standing Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation.
This program will help strengthen human and institutional capacity and enable us to provide support to Syria in areas such as education, expert rotation, needs assessment and feasibility studies.
"I am confident that the OIC member states will make an invaluable contribution to the implementation of the project," Erdogan said while speaking at the OIC committee meeting in Istanbul.
