The U.S. military has begun upgrading Puerto Rico's Roosevelt Roads naval base, which was closed more than 20 years ago, in a sign of preparations for a military base off the coast of Venezuela. This was reported by Reuters on November 2, after analyzing satellite images.
"The United States military is modernizing a long-abandoned former Cold War-era naval base in the Caribbean in preparation for long-term operations that could help support possible operations inside Venezuela," the article states.
