Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani confirmed that the country's interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa will visit the United States in November, SANA news agency reported on Sunday.
"This month, President al-Sharaa plans to visit the White House, where he will hold talks on issues related to the post-war reconstruction of Syria," the agency quoted the minister as saying.
During the visit, it is also planned to discuss the issue of complete lifting of sanctions against Syria. According to the Syrian Foreign Minister, "there is no reason to continue the sanctions."
