Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that arms supplies to Ukraine clearly do not contribute to the settlement of the conflict or the fulfillment of pre-election promises of the current US leadership.
"Obviously, this has been proven both by the current situation and by previous years, that militarization and supplying weapons, especially to the terrorist regime, will not bring any settlement to anyone.
And even more, there is no prospect of fulfilling pre-election promises made by the administration currently in power," he told reporters, answering a question about the Pentagon's alleged approval of Tomahawk supplies to Ukraine.
CNN, citing sources in the US and Europe, reported on Friday that the Pentagon had given the White House permission to move long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine because the military department believed it would not harm the US weapons stockpile.
