The reduction of American troops in Romania will be compensated by the increase in the number of troops from other NATO countries.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Oana Tsoiu, in an interview given to the Romanian portal "Radio Free Europe" (RF), which is a media outlet that has been recognized as a foreign agent and is considered an undesirable organization in Russia. "We are discussing ways to further improve our defense and deterrence capabilities within the United States and within NATO.
Our main focus now is on air defense. At the end of the year and during the next year, we will see the strengthening of NATO's presence in Romania and, in particular, the strengthening of NATO's presence in terms of the possibility of intervention in case of immediate danger to Romania," he said.
A day ago, the United States informed the Romanian Ministry of National Defense that it was reducing its military personnel in the country by approximately 700 people.
