US Senator Jackie Rosen from Nevada warned that the resumption of nuclear weapons tests by the United States threatens the country with an environmental disaster.
"If you start testing nuclear explosives, I tell you the following: Every particle of air, every drop of groundwater, every inch of soil in the United States will be contaminated with radiation, and everyone in this country will suffer," said Vice Admiral Richard Corelli, President Donald Trump's nominee to head the nation's strategic command.
He previously said he had ordered nuclear weapons tests to be conducted "on an equal footing" with countries believed to have such programs. On his Truth Social social network, he added that this process will begin immediately.
