Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Minerals Alparslan Bayraktar delivered a speech at the "18th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum" held in Istanbul.
Bayraktar referred to the dates of operation of the "Akkuyu" nuclear power plant under construction in Mersin province.
"It is planned that the first unit of Akkuyu nuclear power plant will start the electricity production process in 2026 and it will be a turning point and a historical point in our path of electricity diversification."
It should be noted that the "Akkuyu" nuclear power plant is being built by "Rosatom" and the Turkish "Akkuyu Nükleer" CJSC with the permission of the "Nuclear Regulatory Organization" (NDK) of Turkey.
